MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR

At the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC), we’re here to help you confidently navigate your journey into working life. In today’s fast-changing world, standing out means being a curious, adaptable learner with strong interdisciplinary skills, fluency in AI, and a global, resilient mindset.

Embrace AI and Technology
Employers are rapidly adopting AI and automation. Start mastering these tools now to boost your efficiency and marketability—while also understanding their ethical use. Explore curated online courses on LinkedIn Learning or Udemy Business to get certified in high-demand tech skills.

Gain Global Exposure
With Singapore as a hub for over 4,200 multinationals, global experience is highly valued. Join overseas exchanges or DKHMCC’s ASEAN Internship Programme (AIP) to gain cross-cultural business exposure and demonstrate your initiative. AIP is open to students who complete the Internship Readiness Modules—contact your career coach for more info.

Build Self-Awareness and Resilience
Unsure about your career direction or major? Speak with your career coach to craft a plan that fits your goals. SMU’s new Co-Curricular Transcript will also help you showcase your out-of-classroom strengths to employers. Engage early to maximise its value.

As SMU marks its 25th anniversary, let’s shape a bold and impactful future—together!

WHO WE ARE

-

Located in SMU’s Administration Building, DKHMCC empowers students to take charge of their career journey through personalised support, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities. We help students build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive in the workforce. Additionally, we team up with employers to tap into emerging talent, fuel their growth strategies, and build lasting connections that drive a competitive edge.

OUR STORY

-

Launched on 18 September 2012, the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC) is named in recognition of a generous gift from the former President of Vitol Asia Ptd Ltd and member of the SMU Board of Trustees, Dato' Kho Hui Meng.

The Centre houses three training rooms for employers to host information sessions and five interview rooms for career coaching and meetings with corporate partners and prospective employers.

DKHMCC is part of SMU's Academic Services and Operations (ASO) group, which also includes the Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance, the Office of the Registrar, and the Centre for Global Education and Opportunities. Together, these units collaborate to support and streamline key milestones in every student’s journey.
