General Questions
The Lifelong Coaching Service is a personalized, professional support designed to help SMU alumni at all career stages. It includes 1-on-1 coaching and access to OnTRAC portal to guide you through career transitions, career growth and professional development.
The service is available to all graduates of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from SMU.
We offer 3 complimentary coaching sessions per calendar year.
If you require more than 3 coaching sessions, you may be referred to an external coach and additional charges may apply.
Coaching Topics & Format
Our coaching supports a wide range of goals, including:
- Career planning and job transitions
- Leadership and executive development
- Personal career growth
- Returning to the workforce or career pivots
Coaching is delivered through:
- 1-on-1 sessions (virtual or in-person)
Each 1-on-1 session typically lasts 45 – 60 minutes.
Booking & Access
You can book by completing this form.
You’ll be able to select up to 3 preferred time slots for the coaching session.
Coaches will be assigned based on availability. While you won’t be able to select your coach, all coaches in the programme are certified professionals carefully vetted for quality of service and experience.
We will contact you within 3 working days to schedule the session.
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid losing the session. Our coaches' time is valuable, and this policy helps ensure fairness for everyone. If you fail to make the change within the 24-hour window, the session will be considered used.
Coach & Service Quality
Our coaches are:
- Certified professionals with years of coaching experience
- Specialised in various industries and development areas
SMU may, from time to time, assign external coaches from our panel of approved coaches. These coaches are also certified and experienced professionals. There are no additional fees involved if the session is part of the three complimentary sessions.
We’ll send you a feedback form after every coaching session. We take your feedback seriously and will endeavour to maintain high standards of coaching excellence.
