Bridging the gap between students, career centre and the corporate world
SMU Career Champions (CC) are a group of student leaders trained by the Career Centre to offer basic career coaching to undergraduate students. They are equipped to support their peers with resume reviews, mock interviews, and internship advice.
All CC members must complete SMU’s mandatory internship requirement before conducting independent coaching sessions. Those who are still completing this requirement are known as Associate CCs—they’ve been trained, but will coach alongside a fully qualified CC member as part of their on-the-job learning. This ensures every session is delivered with quality and consistency, while giving Associate CCs valuable hands-on experience.
Beyond one-on-one coaching sessions, Career Champions also organise events such as:
Resume vetting for students
For past welfare drives, we support organisations that engaged the less fortunate such as handmade cookies by Flour Power.
Professionals from various industries share their experiences and answer students’ burning questions. Past industries covered include product management, consulting, and tech sales.
Participants can hear from current SMU seniors about their internship experiences and gain industry knowledge as well as tips on how to get into their dream companies.
Participants will get the chance to network with professionals from various industries in a lighthearted setting. Past professionals who have been invited have worked in companies such as Amazon, Citibank, Grab, JP Morgan and Shopee.
For past company visits, we have visited Moomoo, SGX and Acclime
- Past collaborations with SMUSA, Bondue and SMU Muslim Society
- Resume workshops for AIESEC members, SCIS students
